What this includes

A faulty DC power jack is often the reason a laptop will not charge unless the cable is wiggled or held at a specific angle. The repair process typically involves either replacing a plug-in modular port or desoldering and resoldering a new socket onto the motherboard. Depending on the laptop's make and model, the minimum repair cost is £70. If any additional damage caused by the faulty jack is identified, the cost may increase. In such cases, you will be notified for approval before any further work commences. 15 minutes is for dropping your device off, not for the work itself.

We repair laptops and desktop computers only. We do not repair mobile phones, tablets or any other handheld devices, games consoles, or carry out micro-soldering and board-level chip repairs. Please do not book these in - we will not be able to help.

Missed appointments

Missed appointments: if you do not attend without cancelling, the check-up fee for that appointment is not refundable, because the slot was held for you while other customers could not book it. A first missed appointment is excused. After that, any new booking must be paid in advance by bank transfer, and if it is not attended the payment is void and non-refundable.
